Let there be Cakie!

Surrounded by streamers, hanging tissue paper flowers, cute cups plates and napkins, scads and oodles of pink, a heap of presents, a birthday hat, aunt's uncle's grandmas, cute cousins, a piloted lego plane, and a confetti laden cake this little lady turned six!

This fully captures the excitement of the day!
Although I will say that the photo is blurry because my camera battery was dying.

My New Pet...

I have a new pet. He's the best kind of pet a girl like me could have. Here's why I think he's the perfect pet for me.  He was free and didn't require a deposit when I moved into my apartment and I don't have to pay extra each month to have him.  I don't have to get up and take him out for a relief walk early in the morning or anytime of day for that matter. He won't make messes in my house,  he doesn't require a lot of care on my part; no shots, no baths, no petting, no feeding,  he's not around all the time and is self sufficient, low maintenance, quiet, super cute and very entertaining to watch, plus he likes me he keeps showing up at my house!

Here he is! Meet "Squirrel," my new pet.
Great name, uhn? I'm creative like that

This morning I opened my living room curtains and there he was climbing on the outside of my screen, we're going to have to work on that.  Ok, so he keeps showing up because of the acorns on my deck, but in every relationship there's got to be a beginning, acorns just happens to be ours.  He sits there and watch's me, he may nor may not want come in, and I bet he wants more acorns and thinks I'm the acorn supplier.   I bet he thinks I'm his pet and wants to train me to feed him.   It doesn't really matter what he thinks of me I think he's cute, wonder if he thinks I'm cute...can you buy acorns?  His training of me may or may not be working...

And by "We" I mean these two Christmas Characters, the handsome glitter man (what girl doesn't love a man in uniform) and the lovely snow girl.   I'm getting ready to open a "store page" on this site and an "etsy store" for cards and art work that I create, so this is the "Breaking News All Points Bulletin" to get ready...................more news to follow!!!

Christmas Fun...

Recently I did a photo shoot with some people I work with. They make up the music department and are all very talented, creative types! I had to be louder than they were so they could hear me, not hard for me, I've been accused many times of being a loud talker, usually once a day, sometimes more.  Let the fun begin!

Good times!

The Dabaja Wedding

On a crisp Friday night in November surrounded by family and friends this beautiful couple said their vows, exchanged their rings, took communion together and became man and wife. I had the privilege of documenting their love.

I love the way they're looking and smiling at each other in this first photo.
Arik had his dad as his best man and
Shannon had her mom as her maid of honor. I love that!

Side note: My day job boss man officiated the wedding, he did a great job!

Let me just say that Shannon rocked the dress! My camera loved her, very photogenic
and such a sweetheart. She's pretty on the inside and the outside.

Arik came in with this hat on, I kept asking him if he was wearing it for the wedding, honestly not loving the look.  After me asking about five times he said he wasn't going to wear it for the ceremony but brought it to honor one of his favorite people, his Grandpa Malek, who died recently.  It's was Malek's hat, he owned a Men's Wear Store and did tailoring. Malek was an important person in Arik's life so he brought the hat in memory of him.  It's a very dapper hat.
I can only imagine how dapper Malek was.

Something old, something borrowed, something blue
all in one item, a hanky that was Shannon's Grandmas.
I love the sentiment behind it.

Love the look of love on their faces~

Mr & Mrs Dabaja Everybody!!!!!

Shannon and Ariks moms have been the very best of friends for year's.
They're praying moms and find it amazing that God answered
their prayers for spouses for their children by joining their two families together!!!!
Arik's mom told me that from the minute she met Shannon she loved her.
Arik and Shannon met when Shannon was a young teen
and over a period of time they grew to be the very best of friends
and well we see how that has ended up!
Don't you love a happy ending?

Oh, and there were super heroes at their wedding!
