As the Sun Sets...

I really like "New Year's," it's a "New Chapter" in the book of your life. Before the new year starts I enjoy taking a look back.  I journal most every day and as the year is ending  I  look back in my journals, in 2010 there were three.  I like to read the beginning of the year  and I browse through reading bits and pieces.  Here's what I encountered this morning when doing this; I am still struggling with some of the same issues, there have been some up's and downs, lot's of changes, surprises and challenges. sprinkle in laughter, new family additions, the disappointment of no changes in areas that I'd like to see some changes, but the one predominate reoccurring theme through out the year is that God was faithful!   He got me thought the journey of 2010 safe and sound, hopefully wiser and most assuredly older!

I also keep a Dream Journal.  It's something I've done for years.  I know from personal experience that God can and does use dreams to talk to me. As I read through my dream journal entries from 2010 I was in utter shock and amazement at some of the dreams I had that were literally God giving me glimpses of what was ahead.  I will say that when I remember a dream I write it down and pray about it and what it means in my life or the lives of others.  I also confess that I have dreams I don't get and don't know what to do with, these I find very frustrating and yet so fascinating.

As the sun sets on December 31st 2010 my goal is to leave the negative things in my life behind and not drag them into the new chapter.  My goal is to be fitter physically, financially, socially and spiritually.  I'm starting the new year by joining my church family in a 21 day fast.  I'm super excited about this because I know there's great power in fasting and agreement in prayer.  I'm going to start the year strong and make progress in 2011.

Goodbye 2010!
It's been real!  It's been fun!
It's been real fun...most days!

Hello 2011! I'm excited about the amazing things that are ahead, new opportunities, new people, new doors that are going to be opening up!  This is going to be the best year yet!

Can You See Me Now?

Bullet points from my Wednesday
  • Thought about my dad today after I used www.dictionary.com to look up a word.  While growing up if I didn't know a word he always sent me to get out our big fat red dictionary to look it up, which I wasn't always crazy about doing. Now I'm glad he did and I'm also glad that there's dictionary.com, so stinking easy.  I use it often So thank you Mr. Smith!!!  He would actually read the dictionary from time to time.  He was a smart man, knew lot's of facts and a good speller.  Thank you Mr Big Fat Red Dictionary!
  • Ate lunch with the lunch club ladies at work today...always a delight.  I work with some great people
  • Used bullets points in several documents I worked on today.  I like the actual bullet point. Big fan of polka dots, bullet points are just one polka dot.  Love that!
  • Actually woke up at 5:30 am, got up at 6 am and was still on the edge of being late for work at 9:00 am. I always think I have time to do just one more thing. Oh Boy!
  • Did some Christmas Shopping and got my Christmas dinner grocery shopping done, HOLLA!
  • God smiled on me today with a nice surprise in the mail!  Really it was an answer to prayer.
  • Watched "Millionaire Matchmaker." I recorded it.  It's kind of insulting but extremely entertaining.  I think I'm hooked.  Love it when the people they match up connect, it's fun to see it unfold.
  • Dinner was chips and dips...veggies and dairy right? Ok, so it's not the healthiest, well  let's just straight to not healthy at all.  But it's what I had and I enjoyed it, made me feel festive like I was at a party.  Perhaps I am a party!!!!
  • Got an email from an online store that would like me to host some giveaways on my blog.  They have scads and oodles of awesomeness.  Stayed tuned for the first giveaway coming up soon.  In the meantime check them out at http://www.csnstores.com
  • I'm on day three of not washing my hair. I got compliments on how great my hair looked!  I always do on day three and day four, go figure.  If I ever have to do a day five it's not good, it's just not good. Day 3 and 4 is when the magic happens.
  • Someone gave me a super cute box of yummy chocolates and someone else gave me some super cute earrings.  I just really like to say SUPER CUTE.
  • Last but not least some fun photos of the always fun and SUPER CUTE Ruby!
Can you see me now?

Hope you're feeling SUPER CUTE today and are a party!
Man, your hair looks great!!!!!

What Does Christmas Look Like?

Here we are just a few day's before Christmas.  Store's are jammed packed with people hustling about spending money on gifts to give and food to make,  Christmas music is playing, pretty twinkling lights and decorations are up everywhere.  Travel will be in some people's Christmas plans like the classic "Trains, Planes & Automobiles,"  ha, what a great movie! Parties are in full swing with families, friends and coworkers.  This is what Christmas looks like present day, but what did it look like on the night the Christ was born?  There was travel involved in this first Christmas too as Joseph and the very pregnant Mary traveled to Bethlehem. The city was filled with people, not to shop or celebrate but to pay their taxes, so many in fact every hotel/motel/ inn was filled. Stars shining in the sky were the lights that God strung to welcome the birth of his son.   Mary gave birth to the King of Kings in a humble stable and wrapped her baby in some cloth and laid him in the manger (feeding trough).  In the quiet of night came the greatest gift. . So Christmas was then and is now about the gift He gave, His Son, born to die, for us. What a gift.  Never in my life have I experienced such a life changing, life giving gift as this one...Jesus!

I  baby sat the lovely Ruby on Saturday so her parents could go do a little Christmas Shopping. My Christmas Tree was very entertaining for her.  She spent a lot of time looking at and trying to pull off ornaments.  Her favorite one was a baby in basket "Baby Jesus."   She kept trying to see the baby in it and would reach way up to tilt the basket so she could see it and say "baby."

Amidst the lights, the food and festivities let's not forget the Gift..
We don't have to strain and reach to see and touch Him.
He's right here, with us!
Emmanuel, God with us...
Merry Christmas!!!

2:46 am randomness...

It's late / early and I'm still up...
I had a photo shoot last Friday morning that I  had to edit and have done by Monday. I sat down about 9:00 pm to just start on them. But before I could start in on the photos I had to play a game or two or three or 10 of solitaire (I usually play until I win, that never happened tonight).  Finally about 10:30 pm I started on the photos. I'm just going to say that the one year old boy I took them of is heart melting cute. I'll post some soon.   Although I was just going to start on the photos I actually got them done!   Hazza!  Then "As Good As It Gets" was on and just ending so I had to watch that, the ending is my favorite part. It's a happy ending love story!

Here's some "bokeh" photos.  I love them, they just make me happy much like the ending of the movie I just watched.  They don't really have anything to do with anything but it's now 3:00 am and I can post what I want,  after all it is my blog :)

This week was a great week!  Why was it a great week?  Because God showed Himself faithful to me in small ways that only I know about.   I love that He's intimate with me and at work and showing me that He's at work and that on occasion I do hear from Him!   I'm here to tell you at 3:06 am that God is faithful and you can trust Him.  He doesn't ever work like I think He could or should but He does always work it out for me.

In other news I actually started my Christmas shopping on Friday.

Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night or good day as it's now 3:09 am!

Let there be Cakie!

Surrounded by streamers, hanging tissue paper flowers, cute cups plates and napkins, scads and oodles of pink, a heap of presents, a birthday hat, aunt's uncle's grandmas, cute cousins, a piloted lego plane, and a confetti laden cake this little lady turned six!

This fully captures the excitement of the day!
Although I will say that the photo is blurry because my camera battery was dying.

My New Pet...

I have a new pet. He's the best kind of pet a girl like me could have. Here's why I think he's the perfect pet for me.  He was free and didn't require a deposit when I moved into my apartment and I don't have to pay extra each month to have him.  I don't have to get up and take him out for a relief walk early in the morning or anytime of day for that matter. He won't make messes in my house,  he doesn't require a lot of care on my part; no shots, no baths, no petting, no feeding,  he's not around all the time and is self sufficient, low maintenance, quiet, super cute and very entertaining to watch, plus he likes me he keeps showing up at my house!

Here he is! Meet "Squirrel," my new pet.
Great name, uhn? I'm creative like that

This morning I opened my living room curtains and there he was climbing on the outside of my screen, we're going to have to work on that.  Ok, so he keeps showing up because of the acorns on my deck, but in every relationship there's got to be a beginning, acorns just happens to be ours.  He sits there and watch's me, he may nor may not want come in, and I bet he wants more acorns and thinks I'm the acorn supplier.   I bet he thinks I'm his pet and wants to train me to feed him.   It doesn't really matter what he thinks of me I think he's cute, wonder if he thinks I'm cute...can you buy acorns?  His training of me may or may not be working...
