What time is it?

What time is it?  It's certainly time for a new blog post!!!!  Finally!!  I apologize, it's been over a week since my last post. I know it's truly hideous. To make it up to you I'm doing a Give A Way! More about that later in the post.

What time is it? It's dinner time, or was. I just finished eating a scumtrulescent meal with roasted chicken, broccoli, spinach, red cabbage, red onions, asparagus, tomatoes all sauteed up in olive oil, with some red pepper flakes and cayenne pepper. It was spicy hot goodness!

It's family time! I'm all about family. I love my kids, their mates, and my grandkids. They are the funniest, most creative, best people I know. I'm sure you feel the same way about your family. I force, and I say that literally, force us to take family photos every year. I love our family photos. I like to shoot informally, I'm not really a formal, studioish type photographer. I usually like the photos of my family casually talking and laughing the very best. I treasure them. I love the photo below; only one of them was looking at me, everybody else is talking, staring off into space, sucking a thumb, pulling grass, or just sitting there looking pretty. Love, love, love it!
The next I have hanging on my dining room wall. I actually made it into this one, which is pretty rare. It's not perfect, that's not the point. It's a moment captured in time of the ones I love.
Look at us we're all looking and mostly smiling. Secret, Luke the only looking in the previous photo has his eyes closed, or is looking down in this one.

Now, onto the Give A Way...I'm going to give a way a Free Family Photo Shoot.  I'll come to the location of your choice, take some great photos of your family, have an 8 x 10 photo of your choice printed for you, and two 5 x 7's of the same print. You'll also get your photos on a disk to have and to hold for as long as you both shall live! Oops sorry, that's wedding talk, don't get me started on getting married wedding talk!

To enter just leave a comment on my blog. You don't have to have an account to comment on my blog, just choose anonymous. You can enter once a day, the more you enter the bigger the chance that you'll win. The Give A Way will end on Sunday night, I'll randomly choose a winner and announce it on Monday. Leaving a comment on my Facebook page doesn't count, although appreciated greatly!

I'm up for a road trip so if you don't live in Grand Rapids I'm willing to travel within a 100 mile radius of Grand Rapids.

What time is it?  It's Family Photo time!

Happy Tuesday!

The Many Faces of Ruby...

Remember the recent birthday party for the lovely little bug in the pink tutu? Ruby was there too in all of her glory. Here's some photos of her taken one right after the other. I love the range of looks in such a short time period, which proves she's a normal girl! I'm warning you there are a lot of photos, but I promise they're all cute.

See I told you cute, right?
Don't you love her holding her baby?
She named the baby Lila, after a baby at her daycare.
She holds that Lila all the time, her baby, not the daycare baby.
Although she'd like to hold that one all the time too.

Now get out there and make it a GREAT week!

Party Girl...

I mentioned in an earlier post this week that we had a celebration for the little pink tutu birthday girl. I just can't resist posting more photos of her, I think you'll agree...

To pooped to party!

Grand Parents Day

Last week I attended Grandparents Day at my grandson's preschool, along with his other Grandma. It was a fast paced hour, filled with songs, crafts, snacks, and play time. Before the songs started he stood in his spot up front with the other kids and waved at both of us grandma's, with both hands.  With his left he'd wave at Grandma Jen who was in the front row, then with his right hand he'd wave at me off to the side front where I sat so I could take some photos. Then he'd wave both hands in her direction, then mine, smiling the whole time. Sure makes a girl feel special. He's in the purple shirt, jumping in the first one. The little girl in the pink shirt next to him kept looking at him, I bet she thinks he's super cute.

On to my favorite part, he wanted to use my camera, I let him.
Here's the one's he took. I love them.
After seeing this next photo I now understand why his photos turned out the way they did.
He doesn't look through the viewfinder, but over the top of the camera.
Ok, so I lied this last photo is my favorite part of the whole day.
He held my hand, it melted my heart!
It was such a nice time spent with one perfect little gentleman!

Pink tutu and cupcakes!

This little bug turned one last week. There was a party for her, with two grandmas, one great grandma, a couple of cousins, aunts and uncles and all her siblings. The party was complete with pink cupcakes made from scratch by her dad, and the party girl in a pink tutu.
Happy Birthday to Emma!

No Soup For You!

Tuesday nights roasted veggies became part of Wednesday nights "Curry Soup." I don't use recipes to cook from, I like to read them to get creative cooking ideas, but I very rarely use a recipe exactly the way it's written, except for baking. I tend to operate on what's in the fridge, which produced Tuesday's roasted veggies.  I made way more than I could eat in one sitting and decided to use them in a soup.  Roasted anything adds a tasty layer to soups. I love curry every now and then, it's been awhile since I've cooked anything curry so I decided to use the roasted veggies in a curry soup. A trip to the store after work to get a couple of items: Lentils (a current favorite), coconut milk (creamy deliciousness), and veggie broth (for brothy goodness), some chopping, sauteing, opening of can's, pouring into pot, stirring, bringing to a boil, then simmer, put some in a bowl, let it cool, add spoon in hand to mouth, divine!

Welcome to April...it's really here!
Have a great weekend everybody!
